Picture Hanging Wires
Below you can find our wide range of wires designed to give you plenty of options for arranging your artwork with picture hanging system.
Perlon wires are the most popular way of hanging pictures on walls. They are made of 1mm or 2mm clear nylon and take up to 10kg (1mm) or 25kg (2mm). The top of the wire is sometimes called a glider. There are many types of gliders. They come in different shapes and sizes. Their job is simple; connect to the rail, slide along to where you need it and hold the weight of your artwork.
The wires connect to and disconnect from the system in two ways–either from the end of the rail (Hexagon/Solid Slider) or anywhere along with it (Twister). Perlon wires can be cut to size or coiled behind a picture. They can be safely stored if you do not need to use them all simultaneously.
Twister Hanging Wire 2mm perlon max. 25kg
Length: 100cm, 150cm, 200cm, 250cm, 300cm, 500cm
Best for: frequent artwork changes

The Twister wire has its name after the way it connect to the rail. Slide it in and twist it (turn it) by 90 degrees to lock it in place. It’s that simple. In terms of rearranging speed, there is no faster one. You can be connected and slide it along the rail for as long as within seconds. This wire works great with all picture hooks we offer. It is available in 6 lengths between 1m and 5m.
Solid Slider Hanging Wire 2mm perlon max. 22kg
Length: 100cm, 150cm, 200cm, 250cm, 300cm
Best for: increased protection
Fit:Â 2mm hooks
The Solid Slider connects to the system from either end of rail or rail chain. If your rail has an end cap applied, there is no need to remove it to connect the wire. All ARTITEQ end caps have a small space inside to insert the wire and slide it along. If your rail doesn’t have an end cap, we advise leaving a 5mm gap for the purpose above. This wire prevents unauthorised people from removing it.
Hexagon Hanging Wire 2mm perlon max. 20kg

Best for: affordability

The Hexagon wire as the name suggest has a hex-shaped glider. It’s great for smaller or on budget picture hanging. It is available in 5 lengths and compatible with all picture hooks we offer. Like all wires, you can hang more than one picture on a single wire up to the maximum weight of 20kg or available space.
Loop Hanging Wire 2mm perlon max. 20kg
Length: 100cm, 150cm, 200cm, 250cm, 300cm
Best for: wooden rails, marquees, panel walls
Fit:Â 2mm hooks
The Loop wires is a great companion for hanging pictures using gallery hooks and partition wall hooks. It also works well in tents, marquees, pipe structures. Just loop it on itself, and voila. You can hang your pictures or other items. We also offer clamps that allow you to loop the other end, too, if needed. It is available in 5 lengths.
Twister LOCK Hanging Wire 2mm perlon max. 25kg

Best for:Â protection from an easy removal
Fit:Â 2mm hooks
The Twister LOCK wire works in the same way as standard Twister. The only difference is the top of the wire. This wire is equipped with a plastic jacket which prevents the wire from popping out from the rail accidentally. In general, this isn’t easy to achieve; however, if you would like peace of mind, opt for the LOCK.

The 1mm Twister wire is designed specifically for use with 1mm-compatible hooks, such as the Micro Hook. While the connection mechanism at the top of the wire maintains the standard Twister design for compatibility with existing rail systems, the wire diameter is reduced to 1mm. This product is manufactured in three distinct lengths to accommodate different installation requirements.The primary distinction is its narrow gauge. Standard 2mm hooks will not function correctly with this wire, as the internal gripping mechanisms are calibrated for the thinner 1mm profile. The 10kg weight limit is a mechanical constraint determined by the interaction between the 1mm wire and the Micro Hook. This wire is available in three lengths .
Steel wires are a great alternative to Perlon Wire if you are looking for a more contemporary or industrial look. They are made of braided steel wires and take up to 20kg. Due to their design, steel wires are more suited to work with auto-locking hooks rather than screw-locking ones. That’s because the screw may damage the wire over time.

However, they may fray after time. We recommend coiling them behind a picture instead. They can be safely stored if you do not need to use them all simultaneously.
