How to install
Determine the desired location for the magazine rail on the wall, considering factors such as visibility and accessibility. If installing multiple rails, plan the vertical spacing between them. Ensure the chosen wall surface is suitable for drilling and can support the weight of the rail and the magazines it will hold. Gather the necessary tools, which typically include a drill, drill bits appropriate for the wall type, a measuring tape, a level, a pencil, and the provided mounting hardware (screws and possibly wall anchors).
Position the magazine rail against the wall at the desired height and use a level to ensure it is perfectly horizontal. Mark the locations of the screw holes on the wall with a pencil. The number and placement of these holes will depend on the design of the specific ARTITEQ Magazine Rail model.
Based on the wall type (e.g., drywall, plaster, brick), select the appropriate drill bit size. For hard walls like brick or concrete, use a masonry drill bit. Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. The depth of the pilot holes should correspond to the length of the screws or wall anchors being used. If using wall anchors (recommended for drywall or less solid walls), ensure the pilot holes are the correct diameter for the anchors.
If the wall material requires them, insert the wall anchors into the drilled pilot holes. Tap them gently with a hammer if necessary until they are flush with the wall surface.
Align the screw holes in the magazine rail with the drilled pilot holes (or the inserted wall anchors). Insert the provided screws through the holes in the rail and into the pilot holes or wall anchors. Use a screwdriver to tighten the screws securely, ensuring the rail is firmly attached to the wall. Avoid over-tightening, which could damage the rail or the wall.
Once the rail is mounted, use a level again to verify that it remains horizontal. Ensure all screws are tightened appropriately and the rail feels stable. The ARTITEQ Magazine Rail is now ready for displaying periodicals and magazines.
